3. Shark Navigator Professional Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Lift-Away and Anti-Allergy Seal, NV370

The Shark NV370 is the newest model among the three upright vacuums we reviewed today. This machine does wonders with picking up things you never expect to see in your supposedly pristine home!

The N370 comes equipped with plenty of features, making it one of the most versatile upright vacuum cleaners in the market. The suction power of this machine is unmatched, even when you use any of the attachments. This unit has splendid attachments, too.

And with its white chassis and silver metallic accents, it is definitely something you wouldn’t feel embarrassed to have left out if your friends visit unannounced.

  • Lightweight and powerful at 13.5 pounds

Actual Cleaning Performance

Shark NV352

Shark-NV352
The Shark NV352, as expected of an old model, lacks a height-adaptive brushroll, but you can control how much air is moving with a turn of a dial.

Also known as the “Brushroll Shutoff,” it protects and cleans your expensive hardwood floors without compromising on suction power.

Likewise, the Shark NV352 is a breeze to push on low- and mid-pile carpets, as the beater bars help self-propel the vacuum on carpeted surfaces.

While there is no issue using the Shark NV352 as a whole, it becomes slightly cumbersome to adjust the power once you separate the canister. You will have to bend over to change settings using the controls on the base. There are no lights on it, too. And so, vacuuming in low-light areas is a “cross your fingers” kind of situation.

The unit also topples when using the hose because it is too short and not very stretchable. You should never let this happen, as the Shark NV352 is a delicate vacuum cleaner.

Shark NV360

Shark-NV360
The Shark NV360 also sucks up frightening amounts of dirt on bare floors and carpeted surfaces. Similar to the NV352, it has a toggle switch button so that you can turn off the brushes and prevent them from scratching your hardwood floors.

If the vacuum is on carpet mode and you let it sit upright for a moment, it turns the brushes off automatically so that it won’t burn your carpets.

While the Shark NV360 is a cinch to glide on smooth flooring and low-pile carpets, it can be a challenge to push it on thick, high-pile carpets. The reason for this is its lack of height controls.

Nonetheless, there is a suction release valve at the base of the handle. If the movement gets difficult, turning it open and close should help.

Likewise, this unit doesn’t have LED headlights, and the cord is a perpetual tripping hazard.

If there is one thing that makes the NV360 ahead of the NV352, that would be the attachments that you get along with the unit.

Shark NV370

Shark- NV370
If you thought your house is clean enough, wait till you get your hands with this Shark. With its impressive suction power, you can pick up things you thought you never had in your home.

The swiveling head of the dust-away attachment renders a broom and dustpan things of the distant past! With this unit, you can set those aside since you can quickly get around virtually every nook and cranny of your home.

The Shark NV370 has all the incredible features of the NV352 and NV360, but only much better.

You can also switch the suction from carpet to bare floor to save expensive hardwood floors from any possible damage.

This model doesn’t leave unsightly marks on your carpets and rugs, as well. But instead, it gives carpets a freshly shampooed look.

Another thing we like about this model is its ability to store many tools on the side of the vacuum so that you won’t have to stop in-between cleanings to fetch the attachments. More impressively, the canister can stand alone.

Shark NV352 vs. NV360 vs. NV370: Face to Face Comparison

Cleaning Technologies

The Shark NV352, NV360, and NV370 upright vacuum cleaners operate using a bagless cyclonic technology, which is also known as the “Never Loses Suction” feature.

This technique allows the suction power to remain consistent from the first room up to the last regardless of how full the canister gets or what types of surfaces you are cleaning.
Lift-Away
All three vacuum cleaners boast of the unique “Lift-Away” feature, as well.

At the push of a button, you can lift away the canister from the base. By then, you can enjoy the perks of a canister vacuum and clean above-floor areas with ease, including stairs and upholstery furniture.

Weight and Portability

The weight of a vacuum cleaner is an essential factor in the buyer decision process. You don’t want to drag around a massive machine, especially if you have back pain. Fortunately, weight isn’t an issue for these upright vacuum cleaners.

Weight and Portability

  • With a weight of 12.5 pounds, the Shark NV352 is the lightest among the three.
  • The Shark NV370 ranks second at 13.7 pounds
  • Followed by the NV360 at 16 pounds.

As you can see, these units are as light as a Shih Tzu. Therefore, these options are ideal for people of all ages, particularly seniors and individuals with limited mobility.

Any of the three units are already lightweight when fully snapped together. But with the “Lift-Away” feature, it would become even lighter and more convenient for you to carry it around.

Maneuverability and Ease of Use

Ordinary upright vacuum cleaners often become unmanageable when it comes to a room that has too much furniture.
Maneuverability and Ease of Use
Again, this isn’t the case with the Shark NV352, NV360, and NV370. These vacuum cleaners feature swivel steering for maximum control while cleaning. With a swivel head, it should be a breeze to steer the base of the vacuum. You should be able to navigate around chairs, tables, and narrow areas at average speed.

We did notice that the swivel head of NV370 moves more smoothly than the others. But for the low price, users should find the NV352 and NV360 entirely sufficient.

Also, you should be able to clean without changing outlets. Each model comes with a 25-feet power cord, which should be adequate for cleaning a single room in one go. These features are a huge plus for anyone looking to clean quickly and efficiently with minimal effort.

But because the canister is tall and bulky, you need to take it off for you to reach underneath low-height furniture. Otherwise, you can’t get past the nozzle head.

Pet Hair and Dander Removal

Pet owners will love all three “Lift-Away” models, as they perform an equally great job at cleaning pet messes virtually anywhere inside the house. Each model offers powerful suction, picking up both human and pet hair in one swipe.
Pet Hair and Dander Removal
Adding to that is the Pet Power Brush that the NV360 and N370 have. This attachment allows you to pick up pet hair in areas that most upright vacuum cleaners can’t, such as the dog beds, cat jungle gyms, carpeted stairs, and whatnot. Even if you don’t own a pet, it deals with human hair exceptionally well. As for the NV352, you have to buy the tool separately.

In the same vein, these Sharks are sure to help allergy sufferers. The units come equipped with a washable foam filter and a HEPA filter, which is the gold standard air filter for asthma, allergies, etc. More impressively, each model features Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology. This technology, combined with the filters, ensure that all vacuumed contaminants remain trapped inside the canister until release.

Unfortunately, you have to be pulling hairs out of their motorized brush — more frequently if you have multiple heavy-shedding pets. On the bright side, the filters are there to stay.

Cleaning Tests

Bare floor

We put these Sharks to the test and see how they differ when it comes to removing dense and light debris on the hardwood floor.
Bare floor
We made a zigzag trail of glitter and flour to simulate dust; 30 grams of cotton balls to simulate dust bunnies; as well as rice, cornflakes, beads, and coffee beans.

The Shark NV352, NV360, and NV370 did well on both hardwood and tiles. Thanks to the powerful suction and swivel steering, we were able to remove all evidence in a single pass.

Low-pile carpet

We scattered the same amount of debris on a 24” x 24” Berber carpet and counted the number of passes each model took to clear the mess entirely. Then we counted the number of passes each model took to clear the mess completely.
Low-pile carpet
The Shark NV370 did the best job at this round, as it only took three passes to clear out all particles. The Shark NV360 struggled a bit on removing the glitter and flour from the low-pile, but it cleared all of it after six passes. Lastly, the Shark NV352 complete the task after eight passes, but we had to push the vacuum a little slower than we would normally do.

High-pile carpet

We scattered the same substances on a 24” x 24” shag carpet for the final test. Again, we counted the number of passes each unit took to clear the visible debris. After each clean, we removed the rug and gave it a shake to see if there are sparkles or flour left that the vacuum failed to extract.
High-pile carpet

The Shark NV370 once again dominated in this department. The visible particles are gone after three passes, and after three more passes, there was no glitter left on the rug.

The Shark NV360 and NV352 performed almost equally as they did during the low-pile carpet test, but removing the glitter embedded in the shag rug was a struggle for both of them. There were still plenty of glitter left after we made ten passes.

Shark NV352 vs. NV360 vs. NV370: What to Pick?

There is no need to break the bank to get an upright vacuum cleaner that could deal with pet/human hair, cookie crumbles, dust, and other daily household detritus. The Shark NV352, NV360, and N370 can do just that and more!

With the “Lift-Away” feature, you get the versatility of a canister vacuum cleaner combined with the powerful performance of a fully functional upright unit. You should be able to clean blinds, staircases, shelves, crown moldings, and a lot more.

All three models also feature a swivel head operation that is similar to a ball vacuum that expensive vacuums have.

The vacuums are fairly simple to use, as well. Another good side to these units is the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology that could improve indoor air quality.

And because these machines are lightweight and require minimal upkeep, anyone can use it with ease.

So, which among the three upright vacuum cleaners is your favorite?

If your budget is tight or if you need a Shark that would pound hard floors without spewing dust, the Shark NV352 should fit the bill.

But if you have a bigger budget, go with the Shark NV360, as it comes with multiple attachments that should make cleaning more efficient.

In summary, we think that the Shark NV370 is the best among the three vacuums we reviewed. This model has a better build compared to the NV352, so you should choose this one if you are considering of getting a unit that will last for a long time. Adding to that, it is ideal for both home and commercial use.

Similar to the NV360, it comes with many tools that make the vacuum more effective cleaning companion for anyone. The major difference between the two is the brushroll they equip.

The Shark NV360 uses a standard brushroll, while the Shark NV370 uses the Premium Brush Roll that features Shark’s Gentle Deep Clean Technology. As a result, it keeps your hardwood floors’ glorious shine and protects your carpets at the same time.
